On Friday, April 27, 2018, the Development Bank of Jamaica held a ceremony at the Spanish Court Hotel in New Kingston, to close the two-year Pilot Project and simultaneously launch round two of its Innovation Grant from New Ideas to Entrepreneurship (IGNITE) Programme.
Under the pilot project, IGNITE provided capacity-building grants between $1 million and $4 million to improve the business development and growth of 27 start-ups with innovative projects and to help them achieve positive economic returns in terms of level of investment, revenue, employment and export.
Round II of the programme will begin in the second quarter of the 2018/19 Financial Year.
