Objectives : Provides leadership and technical support to encourage potential entrepreneurs at the university level and facilitates students putting entrepreneurship principles into practice, through an integrated learning experience.   • A business must be registered with the Companies Office of Jamaica (COJ) to qualify for a voucher or to benefit from any other DBJ product.
  • Businesses are eligible for a maximum of two vouchers within a two year period.
  • DBJ covers 70% of the cost of specific services offered under the VTA programme.

Innovation Grant from New Ideas to Entrepreneurship (IGNITE)
Fosters entrepreneurship innovation and support for the creation and growth of new firms in the productive sectors from Startup to Growth stage within two (2) years.

  • The program provides grant funds up to $4 million or 70% of the project cost.
  • The business must be registered with the Companies Office of Jamaica (COJ) to be able to apply.

The product is a customized direct lending facility with loan and capacity development features.

To be eligible to access this loan, businesses would:-

  1. have benefitted and successfully completed the IGNITE programme
  2. be operational for at least two years
  3. have a demonstrable track record of compliance and performance in the IGNITE Programme

Provides collateral assistance to MSMEs by providing gaurantees to approved financial institutions and micro finance institutions to help MSMEs access loans.
